Solids reduction to keep you in compliance

Vogelsang offers two solids reduction and separation devices which can be used independently or combined for maximum waste handling efficiency. The XRipper, our twin-shaft grinder, offers high throughput and massive power to achieve large volume waste reduction.

With the combination of XRipper and RotaCut we can meet any current federal or state guidelines for offal solid sizes. The combination simply provides the best cutting available in the industry.

Pumping Applications

Our HiFlo Rotary Lobe pumps handle viscous liquids containing heavy solids, abrasive materials and debris commonly found in fish waste including scales and pin bones with no issues.

Our pumps are pulsation free, low shear and high capacity. They can run dry, reverse on the fly and pull a suction lift to 25 feet. The HiFlo pump is highly versatile and easy to maintain.

Our HiFlo Pumps can be configured with a RotaCut and/or an XRipper on a common skid to create a pumping and grinding unit in one powerful, compact package. Both the pump and grinder can be maintained in place without disturbing any connected piping. Each can also be serviced with routine maintenance in about an hour.

The right equipment for specific fishing applications

Vogelsang equipment can tackle the most challenging jobs:
 

ShellFish - Vogelsang's XRipper can handle tough jobs like grinding mussels, oyster shells, and crabs. The hard shells can be ground down much smaller for easier handling and meeting federal and state requirements.

Cod Heads - For one of the most difficult processing tasks, Vogelsang XRipper has the power to cut Cod heads down to size and keep them under federal and state requirements

Salmon Skins - Vogelsang RotaCut's shearing action takes even the most difficult stringy and fibrous skins down to minimal solid size with ease. To keep you in compliance with strict guidelines, we have developed multiple screen sizes and blade options for RotaCut. Once inside the RotaCut, we can take high volume solids, and make them much smaller than any other cutting process available.

Whole Carcasses - Vogelsang XRipper provides a large solids opening, and high throughput capability to grind through whole carcasses in a single pass. Its unique monolithic rotor is made of one solid piece of steel that eliminates shims and spacers so it has the ability to cut smaller than most conventional designs, and is much easier to service.

Fish Surimi – This-paste like product is difficult to pump with traditional pumping equipment, but Vogelsang HiFlo Rotary Lobe pumps handle it with ease. HiFlo pumps are 100% pulsation free. With the ability to pump up to 1 million centipoise, Vogelsang rotary lobe pumps can handle this paste with precise flow.

Skin Tanning - Pickling, pre-tanning, descaling, and degreasing operations need reliable equipment like the rotary lobe pump. With our ability to handle low pH slurries, Vogelsang rotary lobe pumps provide the optimum materials to match your process. Dyeing and fat liquoring process with Vogelsang HiFlo pumps has never been easier.
