Vogelsang pumps are trusted by many of the largest paper operations in North America
All pump and paper mills have the same worries. Pumps may clog or leak. Pump pulsation may damage pipes and other equipment in the system. Pumps may not handle solids efficiently and can be a nightmare to service.
Using the right pump is the key in dealing with these worries.

Vogelsang has a long history of success in pulp and paper mills. We’ve shown time and again how our HiFlo Rotary Lobe pumps outperform internal gear pumps and circumferential piston pumps that are often found in pulp and paper mills. The nature of our pump and lobe design, our cartridge mechanical seal, and the materials we use, make Vogelsang pumps the best choice for pumping liquids such as:

A clogged pump can bring production to a grinding halt. Vogelsang HiFlo pumps are proven to handle solids with varying viscosities better than other pump designs. The HiFlo pump features four- to six-tip convoluted lobe rotors. This lobe design stands up to liquids of varying viscosity and pressure. We manufacture lobes in numerous metallurgies, coatings and elastomers selected for maximum compatibility with your operation, taking into account caustics, abrasives, heat, pH and viscosity.
All Vogelsang pumps can run dry up to 30 minutes without damage, self-prime, and can run in either direction. This protects both the pump and your system from damage.

We’ve been in mills to witness literally a river of black liquor flowing from a pump with a packing failure. Besides spilling hazardous chemicals in your mill that need to be cleaned up, it also means lost profits since your liquor recovery process is a source of income from sale of soap or tall oil, as well as requiring additional chemicals to maintain your white liquor levels.
Pumps that use packed stuffing boxes release material directly onto the floor. The Vogelsang cartridge mechanical seal design eliminates this problem. The hard block ring is wear resistant, especially against fibrous or abrasive material. View Seal Technology Page
Pump downtime means lost productivity. Lost productivity means lower revenue. Lower revenue means… You get the idea. No one ever wants a piece of rotating equipment to fail, but they will. The question is how long will it be down. Our Rotary Lobe Pumps were designed with maintainability in mind. A complete wet end of the pump can be repaired in-line in hours rather than days.
Maintenance and repair of a Vogelsang pump can be done inline, without disconnecting pipes or flanges. It has fewer wet-end parts, an easily accessible design. No sending your pump out for factory repair.
